Back in November, we reported on the end of the Eurovignette in the Netherlands. The introduction of the heavy goods vehicle charge on 1 July 2026 is therefore drawing ever closer.
The lorry charge applies to vehicles weighing 3,500 kg or more and is based on the number of kilometres travelled. Factors such as the vehicle’s weight, emissions and CO₂ emission class play a role in determining the rate.
Further preparations are currently underway, including the development of systems for registration and billing. Lorries will soon need to be fitted with on-board equipment to record the kilometres travelled.
For transport companies, this means that steps must be taken in good time to comply with the new regulations and to properly assess the impact on business operations.
At Kamps Transport, we are actively engaged in this process. We are closely monitoring developments and preparing for the introduction of the new system, so that we can continue to provide our services efficiently and reliably in the future.
